Recipe For The Month Of December
Walnut Coffee Cake (pg.48)
What You Need:
1 package J. B. Dough Sweet Bread Mix
2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon water
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
4 teaspoons milk
1 tablespoon walnuts
Prepare bread mix following J. B. Dough package instructions. Set your machine on the dough mode or on the manual setting.
Remove dough from bread machine. Roll into 15x18-inch rectangle on lightly floured surface. Spread melted butter to within 1 inch of edges. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon and 2 tablespoons walnuts. Roll as for jelly roll from long edge. Seal edge and ends. Cut lengthwise into halves. Twist strips together with cut edges on top. Shape into circle. Place in greased springform pan. Brush with mixture of egg and water.
Let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire rack to cool completely. Drizzle with mixture of confectioners' sugar and milk. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon walnuts.
